Beauty Post - Good Things Manuka Honey Refining Scrub

Today I'm going to review Good Things Manuka Honey Refining Scrub. Whenever I see the phrase Manuka honey on packaging nowadays I immediately assume that the price is going to be through the roof since real Manuka honey can fetch upwards of £35. Luckily, I sneakily picked up this scrub from Boots when it was on offer a few months ago.

What is the big deal about Manuka honey anyway? All of a sudden Manuka honey seems to be everywhere and in every thing! Real Manuka honey comes from New Zealand and has high levels of the natural compound Methylglyoxal, which is responsible for its stable antibacterial activity. Manuka honey can be eaten, taken as a supplement or used in beauty products, like this scrub.

Good Things use Manuka honey in this scrub to help balance out the moisture levels in your skin, along with kaolin which draws out the excess oil from your skin and sweet almond oil which leaves the skin nice and smooth. The oatmeal in the mask is used as a natural exfoliant to polish the skin.

Good Things state that their Manuka honey range was specifically designed to help keep skin clear and hydrated, two things I look for most in skin care since I have quite dry skin and a somewhat ruddy complexion. I have to say that this scrub is one of the best I've ever tried. Not only does it leave my face feeling lovely and smooth, it also makes my skin look brighter and healthy looking. I like to use this scrub on the days I go to the gym as I feel it helps mop up the excess oil on my skin before it can get in and clog my pores. Also a little goes a long way. I've been using this mask 2-3 times a week for a few months and I've only used about half the bottle.

The only criticism I have is that the oatmeal particles are quite large and sparsely distributed and I feel like I can't really get in about it and give my face a really good scrub. I do enjoy really going at my problem areas (nose and chin) with a really fine, gritty scrub normally but you can't really do that with this one.

That aside, I would really recommend this scrub to anyone who is after a product to help rejuvenate tired skin or anyone who suffers from oily or acne prone skin. It smells amazing too! You can pick this scrub up from Boots now where it's on offer again for £3.33!

I hope you found this review helpful, let me know your thoughts on this scrub if you've tried it!
